About the Performance
The commemorative performance “…I Have Seen the World” was created to mark the 90th anniversary of Sándor Csoóri’s birth. Drawing on poems about his homeland, love, human relationships and a sense of responsibility towards the community, the production offers a personal and sensitive portrait of the poet.
Directed and edited by Zoltán Rátóti, Csoóri’s poetry comes to life through the interplay of two actors’ voices and music. The recitations of Márta Bálint and Zoltán Rátóti are accompanied by Márton Komáromi on violin, creating an intimate literary evening and a compelling dialogue on stage.
For Sándor Csoóri, poetry was inseparable from the intellectual and communal world from which his poems emerged. The performance evokes this legacy not simply by commemorating the poet, but by bringing his words and ideas to contemporary audiences as a living body of thought.

As a poet, essayist, sociographer, screenwriter, editor and public figure, Csoóri strove for the fullness of both ‘praxis’ and ‘poiesis’. The intellectual currents running through his works form part of a comprehensive artistic worldview: they reinforce and illuminate one another, all moving in the same direction.”
