Páva Club

Páva Club is a vibrant meeting place for Hungarian folk culture. The series aims to present tradition not merely as a cultural heritage to be preserved, but as a living, shared experience that continues to bring communities together.

Hosted by István Berecz, the events bring together masters of traditional folk culture, musicians, dancers, researchers and young artists with audiences. Conversation, music, dance and traditional dance-house sessions alternate throughout the evenings, with each event focusing on a particular region, community, artist or distinctive aspect of Hungarian folk culture.

The series is also closely connected to the intellectual legacy of Sándor Csoóri and to the idea that folk culture is not a relic of the past, but a shared community experience and a living heritage that can be passed on to future generations.
